There are thousands of AI tools available in 2026. Most review sites tell you they are all excellent.

Decode Tools exists because that isn’t true — and because the people who most need honest guidance are the ones least served by vague, sponsor-friendly reviews.

What we do

Decode Tools reviews, compares, and explains AI software tools for non-technical users: freelancers, content creators, small business owners, and solopreneurs who are spending real money on these tools and want to know if they are worth it.

Every review on this site is produced by actually using the tool. We test real-world tasks — writing, image generation, SEO, productivity, automation — and report what we find, including the weaknesses. Every review tells you clearly who a tool is best for and, just as importantly, who should not bother.

What makes us different

We verify pricing before every article is published. Tool pricing changes constantly. We check the live pricing page before we write — not third-party sources — and flag anything that needs confirming before you make a decision.

We tell you who a tool is not for. Most review sites only tell you the positives. We include an explicit “Who Should Look Elsewhere” section in every review because a tool that is wrong for your use case costs you time and money regardless of how many stars it gets elsewhere.

We don’t rank by commission rate. We participate in affiliate programmes — see our Affiliate Disclosure for full transparency — but a tool’s position in any ranking on this site reflects its actual performance, not how much it pays us.

The site

Decode Tools is based in England, United Kingdom. The site publishes new reviews, comparisons, and guides three times per week — Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

If you have a question about a tool we have reviewed, a suggestion for a tool we should cover, or feedback on anything you have read here, use the contact page. We read everything.
